Bollywood came to precincts and stores across the UK with Uncle Ben’s experiential road show. Taking a lead from the highly memorable TV campaign a team of bhangra dancers and dohl drummers wowed the public. Even more impressive was the consumer reaction to the Tikka Masala sauce with up to two months sales being achieved in a single day.

Cord was appointed by Grand Marnier as their sampling and promotions agency in October and the first activity was to run sampling for “Grand Café” – hot black coffee laced with Grand Marnier and topped with whipped cream.  With the freezing December weather samples were gratefully received and as a result many families were undoubtedly enjoying a Grand Café after their Christmas turkey.

Cord helped Wickes to maximise the local impact of their re-launch with bespoke activity in every store – all 193 of them. Working with 55 individual radio stations we put together a national campaign running over the first two weeks in January. Every store was featured on-air and had a visit from their stations’ “jeep crew” to pull in the crowds.

The NEC played host to the BBC Good Food Show and Cord took space on behalf of Stone’s – sampling and selling direct from the stand.  The show offer went exceedingly well smashing sales targets from the previous year and ultimately running out of Stone’s Special Reserve on the final day.

Cord have been appointed by DIY and Trade building suppliers Wickes to run “Live On-air” radio promotions.  During the peak DIY August bank holiday weekend Cord mobilised promotions on 17 local radio stations covering 20 Wickes stores publicising their great “End of Summer” offers and driving customers to store to meet the station’s Jeep Crew and play the “Wickes Tool Box Challenge”.
